Before she can go, a family tragedy strikes, and she chooses to stay and look after her mother. And then Daunis witnesses a shocking murder and becomes front and center in an FBI investigation. She'll have to use her knowledge of chemistry and Ojibwe traditional medicine to track down the source of the new murder weapon in town, and decide how far she'll go for her community.
Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power. A twisty thriller in which a girl returns to her mother's hometown--where history seems to repeat itself.
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas. A Latinx boy tries to prove he's a sorcerer to find the ghost of his murdered cousin. Unfortunately, the ghost he summons is the wrong one, and he just won't go away.
The Jasmine Project by Meredith Ireland. Jasmine Yap seems to have it all, right before she doesn't: A boyfriend, and she's starting community college in the fall! But then she catches her boyfriend, Paul, cheating on her, so she dumps him. For her overprotective family, it creates a golden opportunity to show Jasmine how much more she deserves--but Jasmine doesn't want to date anybody else. Instead, her family decides to invite all the possible matches they think would work for her to her graduation party. And then Paul crashes the party.
